Welker practices again...LeBron claims to have no opinion on Thibodeau hiring for Bulls
Pats wideout Wes Welker practiced again today with the team at OTA's in Foxboro. When asked questions later, Welker downplayed the significance of being able to practice this soon after surgery on Feb. 2. He avoided questions about a timetable. He stuck to Belichick-like response stating the obvious that he was working hard to get back as soon as possible. Welker has bought into the Patriot way and will give no hint on his injury that could help other teams gameplan for the Pats in the first 4-6 games of the season.
Also, LeBron is claiming to not have had a say in the Bulls hiring Tom Thibodeau as their head coach. Thibodeau is known as a defensive coach which will probably send LeBron away who just wants to win a title while not working hard or playing any defense as was evident in the Cavs' second round exit to the Celtics. Meanwhile, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is pursuing Tom Izzo as a coaching possibility even though Izzo has shot down the rumors. Gilbert is a Michigan State man so it makes sense but he also would not deal with LeBron's antics and ego as he continually brings in team-first minded recruits at Michigan State who stay 3-4 years. He isn't a John Calapari who brings in one and dones who only care about their draft status all season.
Also, the Sox placed Pap on the bereavement list while activating relief pitcher Boof Bonser. Daniel Bard is expected to be the closer for the series in Cleveland while Pap is out. I think Bard will do just fine the way he has pitched lately.
