Winter break odds and ends

Here are some good articles I have found in the last couple days about random shit if anyone is as bored as I know GW is this break.

USCHO.COM just published a breakdown of all(7) the holiday tournaments taking place this week from Wed to Monday. Every major school is playing in some type of four team holiday tournament. It is a good article to keep track of all the tournaments. We should see how teams plan on coming out of the gate right after the break as the second half makes or breaks seasons in college hockey. One thing that stood out to me was Union playing in a field with two other ranked teams(#19 Ferris State and #17 Minnesota) so they could get knocked down big time with a couple losses this weekend. Yale mysteriously isn't playing in a tournament over break which is probably because their coach is the coach of the USA in the world juniors but still. It is also because big time schools would smoke them and they know it deep down.

Speaking of the World Juniors...here is the link to the tournament as the USA plays their second game tonight after beating Finland in OT on Sunday night. The US continues on their quest to defend their gold medal as host up in Buffalo,N.Y.

Coach Parker also sent out the Friends of Hockey Holiday letter which indicates that captain Chris Connolly will be back from his broken finger for the tournament this weekend out in Illinois.

WTBU also predicts what Coach Parker would be looking for in the second half of the season

Terrier Hockey Blog has a nice article here covering former BU Hobey Baker Winner Matt Gilroy's two goals last night and other things leading up the tournament this weekend in Illinois. The highlights here are that Adam Clendening will play after the rumors about him being injured in the exhibition games for the World Juniors.
