BU, BSRS Head to Merrimack Tonight

The BU men's hockey team will at least have 4 fans in the crowd tonight at Lawler Arena, as your very own QuackQuack, FelizMiguel (if he's still alive), QuackQuack the elder and myself will be trekking up for the game. Tonight is the 3rd and last game of the season series between the Mack and BU, and the first two contests both ended in ties (the second being an impressive come from behind effort for BU at Lawler). While Merrimack will be looking to take us down and claim another season series from a perennial powerhouse (they already took their series with BC), our Terriers need to win this game to stay in contention for home ice in HE as well as staying in the national tournament picture. Merrimack is coming off a pair of victories against independent team Alabama-Huntsville, a team that has struggled not only finding games to play but also winning them. Prior to that series, Merrihack drubbed Maine 7-1 at home in a game that can only be described as a blowout. If any BU fans think that this game isn't one to worry about, consider this: since the beginning of last season, Merrimack is 17-4-2 when playing at home. For whatever reason, they seem to enjoy playing in that shed of an arena. Probably reminds them of that time their uncle took them out back into the shed...

Anyways, the Boston Hockey Blog will have their live blog as always. They also wrote up a preview of tonight's contest, found in the Daily Free Press.
