BU gets another commit for 2014-2015

Albie O'Connell has already begun to make his presence felt within the BU program as the Terriers landed one of the top defensman for the upcoming season in Brandon Fortunato. Fortunato is a Albertson, NY native but spent the last two seasons with the US NTDP. He was the U 18's top scoring D this past season with a 3-36-39 line. He is a small, puck-moving defenseman who will certainly need to get stronger during his time at BU but is a great get for the staff. He should be able to come in and contribute on the powerplay right away.

We would also like to thank Mike Matheson for returning to BC for making this possible. This certainly made the recruiting pitch easier for Quinn, Greeley and O'Connell knowing that BC didn't have an available spot as it was rumored to be coming down to BC and BU. Adding even more depth for the blueline will certainly help ease some of the concerns of BU fans as the d corps is the least experience area of the team on paper. The more talented depth you have, the more likely you are to get production out of one of these talented recruits on the blueline.

This was first reported by the Terrier hockey blog.
