Recruiting Update: BU lands another top dman

BU has landed another top recruit in Finnish defenseman Kasper Kotkansalo. Kotkansalo is 2017 NHL draft eligible and is currently projected to a mid round pick.  Kansalo is a 6'2", 190lb left shot dman from Espoo,Finland who played for the Jr-A U 20 Blues last season which is the same team that former Terrier Ahti Okansen played for.

Kotkansalo almost certainly will be heading to BU next year with the departure of senior Doyle Somerby and the possibility of Charlie McAvoy, Dante Fabbro and Brandon Hickey leaving after the season to pursue professional careers. All three most likely will not leave but BU needs to be prepared for atleast one of them to leave. Kotkansalo along with U18 dman David Farrance give BU two very strong options to come in and fill top 6 roles next season on the blueline. I personally love the move just because I assume he is going to be as awesome and entertaining to watch play as Ahti was.
