The Terriers enter the semester break with a disappointing 8-10-1 record but finished the first semester with a 9-3 trouncing over UMass Lowell. The win is most definitely a sign of things to come as BU's remaining opponents consist of the Beanpot and, Arizona State(x2) the bottom five teams in Hockey East. The softer schedule along with a young team getting better should be a recipe for success in the second half for the Terriers who have little room for error the rest of the way if they want to make the NCAA tournament come March.
The Terriers have begun to play the way they they are capable of late with increased contributions from Cam Crotty, Kasper Kotkansalo(Finland World Junior team), Drew Melanson, Brady Tkahcuk and Logan Cockerill among others. They will need continued improvement from them along with Jake Oettinger(save percentage down 25 points from last season) in net in order to make the second half surge for some hardware.
