The Bruins beat the Buffalo Sabres 5-3 this afternoon in Game 2 of their best-of-seven first round series. This win ties up the series 1-1 with the games going back to Boston for Game 3 on Monday night. Buffalo lost its top scorer , Thomas Vanek, in the first to a left foot injury. The Bruins tied up the score 2-2 halfway through the second after going down 2-0 after one. They still gave up a late goal to Buffalo at the end of the second. They came out flying in the third and did not allow a Buffalo shot until they had 10 shots on goal and 2 goals. Captain Zdeno Chara had the game-winner with 12:37 left on a slapper from the left point. The B's look to keep this momentum going into game 3 Monday at the Garden.
The Patriots hosted free agent tight end J.P. Foschi on Friday but no deal is in place yet. The visit simply gives them more flexibility entering the draft with the position. Tight end is one of the top needs and I expect them to take a TE in the second round if they pass on Gresham in the first( stay tuned for my round 2 mock draft during the week). The Pats have been hosting free agents in position of need to help them have back-up plans after the draft which never goes according to plan. The Pats only have veteran Alge Crumpler as a tight end with any experience so look for the position to be addressed either in the draft or through free agency.
Also, Patriots(soon to be ex) OLB Adalius Thomas talked to Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe today at his annual football camp in Hattiesburg,Mississippi. He basically continue to complain and bitch about how he is sad because he sucks and the team played better with him off the field last season. Look for Thomas and his 4.9 million dollar salary to be gone by the June mandatory minicamp 15-17. I would just like to say thank you Adalius Thomas for always giving me something to blog about on a weekly basis you little bitch. Have fun with the thug Jets or wherever the fuck you end up.
