Tuesday Afternoon Rant

I decided it was time to revisit the recent National Championship game and it's victor, Boston College. Ok, they won. They got hot at the right time, caught a few breaks in the bracket (like having Denver knocked out, the team they most likely would have faced in the championship), and played good solid hockey. They won. It's over. I still hate them, but it's over. That being said...

I cannot stand how all of a sudden BC has this huge fan base. Where were they the rest of the year? I guarantee less than a quarter of the student population went to more than, say, 5 games all year. They consistently have poor numbers in attendance, even at home (unless it's against BU). They travel well to the Beanpot (championship game only), and that's about it. In December when BC came to BU, BC had maybe 75 fans there. And that's probably the biggest group they got to travel all season to a regular season contest. Look if you want to have school spirit that's great, just don't act like you were a constant supporter of BC hockey. Because you weren't.

Also, I fucking hate Dan Shaughnessy. How long has this guy been sucking the tiny dick of BC athletics? Christ. He wrote maybe 3 posts about hockey all year - for the Beanpot, for the Hockey East Championship, and for the NCAA victory. And every single time all the guy can say is how "great" it is that BC has all these local players. Hey Shaughnessy, ever think it's because only local people give a FLYING FUCK about BC? They have to recruit locally, because that's all they got. Nobody outside New England gives two fucks about a small Catholic school in Newton Mass. Plus, BU had plenty of local guys - 5 from NY, 3 from MA, 2 from CT on the 09-10 roster. And yeah, we did have a bunch of Canadians. Want to know why? Because in comparison on the ice, they make most Massachusetts prospects look like Nancy Kerrigan - after she got nailed in the knee. So fuck you Shaughnessy.

Ok I'm done. It all just had to be said. BC still sucks. Superfrauds for life .
