There are 28 total participants making up their team with the goal of raising $2,000-3,000 for the cause this year. Those 28 participants include 13 from club line, 4 from club ice, and 11 from the varsity team. The past two years the club line team has raised over $1,000 on their own and came close to raising $1,500 last year. They obviously want to set a new record this year as all of the money goes to the Movember charity. Hockey players throughout college hockey and the NHL are contributing to the cause as well.

This charity raises awareness for mens health issues(prostate and testicular cancer screenings etc). Below is an excerpt from an article written by a member of the club inline team. Take a look at the full article as it goes into a first hand experience about how important these screenings really are.
"Last year, Movember raised $147 million for prostate and testicular cancer awareness thanks to the combined efforts of 1,127,152 men and sympathetic women in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. That's a lot of whiskers."- Click here for the full article
If there is anything any of our readers can do to help by promoting this post or donating themselves, please do what you can. I'm going to go donate right after I post this so you should too. If you just lay off from buying one or two $8.03 beers at Agganis, you can donate that money to the cause. You can donate to the team in general or to individual members as they each attempt to achieve their personal fundraising goals as well. It is a great cause so anything that anyone can do to help will be greatly appreciated by ourselves, the team, and the Movember campaign worldwide.
