BSRS Weekly Awards 12/10

Greg Jennings Award-given to the Terrier who best exemplifies the qualities of Greg Jennings through doin' shit and putting the team on his back. (YOU CAN'T STOP HIM)

Winner- Matt Grzelcyk- Grzelcyk had the best weekend of the season for the Terriers as he contributed a goal Friday night and produced numerous other quality chances with his superior skating ability. Grzelcyk knew when to jump into the rush and his teammates did a great job of covering his back when he did. If Grizz continues this type of play, good things are going to happen for both BU and the USA WJC team.

Joe Pereira Trophy- Given to the Terrier who, through grit, hard work, and determination helps the team to victory on and off the scoresheet. Just like Joey did. (Interview can be read here)

Winner- Matt Ronan,F- Ronan started off Friday night on defense with captain Garrett Noonan out and made a nice pinch and recorded his first point of the season on Tommy Kelley's goal in the second period. Ronan continued his hard skating game and continues to prove his versatility and value to the Terriers. The BOD(Best Offensive Defenseman) has been in the lineup as of late and skating hard every shift which lands him the Joey P this week.

Buddy Powers Award- Given to the best BU coach of the weekend

Winner- Mike Geragosian,goalies- Geragosian's guy Matt O'Connor came up big again as he made 37 saves for the Terriers Saturday night.

Denny Green AwardGiven the player or the team more or less, who is exactly who we thought they were(whether or not they were let  off the hook

Winner- NU- Don't tell NU fans this but blowing a 3-0 lead in the third period isn't good.I  wouldn't expect anything less from that program though who is having more success than anyone expected but they still get into the big games and then uh oh , 3 goal lead gone.

Barilla Pasta Sieve of the Week- Casey DeSmith UNH- DeSmith only made 29 saves all weekend while allowing 7 goals. He wanted that Sieve of the Week honor and he wasn't going to let anything or anyone get in his way. Well done Casey!

Shaw's Star Market Grocery Stick- Danny Linell, BC- The 5th line forward turned dman continues to prove York a "genius" down at BC. He was a solid -1 on the weekend where his team outscored the opposition 8-3. Love how stubborn York is though. Obviously is too old and lost touch with his players. Just throw a traffic cone out there Jerry. I'm sure you will find some way to pay off the refs for more illegal reviews anyway.

Calhoun/Boeheim Quote of the Week- David Quinn-BU 12/9/2013 " If I had to guess(about Noonan's statuus for the next night), I would say yeah he'll play. If I was a betting man, which I'm not because it's illegal, I would say he is going to play"
