BSRS Weekly Awards 2/4

Greg Jennings Award- given to the Terrier who best exemplifies the qualities of Greg Jennings through doin' shit and putting the team on his back. (YOU CAN'T STOP HIM).

Winner- Matt O'Connor- OC made 75 saves over two games this week, posting a .938 save percentage. He seems to be back on track after a dip in the middle of the season and seems calm and poised in the crease. If the current goaltending continues, BU will have a shot in every game they play the rest of the way because Maguire and OC have been playing consistently well as of late.

Joe Pereira Trophy- Given to the Terrier who, through grit, hard work, and determination helps the team to victory on and off the scoresheet. Just like Joey did. (Interview can be read here)

Winner- TJ Ryan- I really liked his play this weekend in both games. He may have had his best game of the year last night against BC. He added an apple on Friday night versus UMass as well. Ryan has developed into a defenseman who knows when to be offensive and when to play it cautiously. He makes the right decision and gives his team everything he has got every shift out there. He is certainly responding well to increased playing time and should be a great asset to the team moving forward.

Buddy Powers Award- Best BU coach of the weekend

Winner- Buddy Powers- His name is on the award..of course he won.

The Denny Green Award-Given the player or the team more or less, who is exactly who we thought they were(whether or not they were let  off the hook).

Winner- Merrimack- They went into a home and home with Lowell this weekend and everyone knew they weren't going to score. They responded by proving the haters correct by putting up a whopping 2 goals on the weekend.  Rumors are the only reason they even scored those two was because Hellebuyck was taking a nap for a few minutes because he was so bored watching the game in front of him.

Shaw's Star Market Grocery Stick of the Week

Winner- Austin Wuthrich, Notre Dame- Wuthrich sucked so much Friday night for ND with his -2,  1 SOG effort that coach Jeff Jackson dropped him to the 4th line for Saturday's contest. He responded in his typical fashion...-1, 1 SOG, 0 positive factor in the game.

Barilla Pasta Sieve of the Week

Winner- Sam Marrotta, G Merrimack-  With his loss to Lowell this weekend, his numbers for the year drop to 1-7, 3.04 GAA and a .874 save percentage...that's not good. Sieve sieve sieve
