According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Jets have traded a 5th round draft pick to Pittsburgh for troubled wide receiver Santonio Holmes. The move adds talent to an already talented Jets team, and will most likely draw analysts all over the country to take the Jets to win the AFC East this year. As Patriots fans know though...talent doesn't win Super Bowls. Teams win Super Bowls. With the addition, the Jets look to gain more talent at low cost. Holmes' value dropped as he is suspended for the first four games of the 2010 season for violating the NFL substance abuse policy. He is also facing a law suit down in Florida after being accused of throwing a glass in a woman's face at a club... Class act.
There is still no word on whether Jason Taylor's contract status with the Jets. He visited the Jets new team facilities last week. Taylor is expected to make a decision by mid-week...
Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury left yesterday's 8-6 win over Kansas City after injuring his ribs in a collision with third baseman Adrian Beltre. It has been diagnosed as bruised ribs as X-rays came back negative. J.D (Nancy) Drew replaced Ellsbury in the game.
