Extremely proud and excited to announce that I have committed to play my college hockey at Boston University #Goterriers #BU

Farrance is the first '99 birthdate added to the recruiting list and looks to arrive for the 2017 season unless he is accelerated for 2016 which doesn't seem necessary unless there are numerous early departures. Farrance posted a 20-12-32 line with 50 penalty minutes in 28 games this year with his U16 team. Those numbers are absurd for a defensman. He put up almost .75 goals per game from the blue line. Those penalty minutes will have to come down when he arrives on Comm Ave for Coach Quinn who hates penalties more than basically anything besides losing.
Huge day for the Terriers on the recruiting trail. New recruit David Farrance has mobility, skill on the blue like few others, at any age.

Stat of the Day: As a bantam defenseman (!) playing USPHL u16 last year, new BU recruit David Farrance landed 3rd in overall goalscoring.

The recruiting machine for Quinn, Greeley, O'Connell, and Young continues as they continue to get commitments from top end puck moving defensemen and skilled forwards. They have a good mix of bigger more physical forwards with smaller guys but they all seems to have a few common attributes in that they have high end puck skills and they all are competitors. It is tough to not get excited about all the high end recruits that will be arriving(hopefully-back the fuck off CHL) in the next few years on the good end of Comm Ave. Three weeks until the exhibition opener at Agganis on October 4th @ 4:00pm.
Liam Coughlin is missing from the recruits arriving 2015. Has there been a change?

DeleteMark Divver of the Providence Journal reported that he and BU parted ways last week on twitter. Not sure the reasoning behind it but he will certainly find another program to join with his talent
ReplyDeleteCoughlin has decommitted. Farrance is for the 2017 class, not 2016.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know. Figured Farrance was a 2017 considering he is a '99 birthdate
ReplyDeleteDave Quinn is on fire in the recruiting dept. He was back in Ann Arbor AGAIN two weeks ago, keeping in contact with the USANTDP, no doubt working to get more talent to follow Jack Eichel to Comm Ave.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the D man Abramson (I think that is the spelling) Was he not the big man on D that we wanted?
ReplyDeleteI am not sure the details on Abramson but once BU got Fortunato the writing was on the wall for him. He would have had to jump a few guys on the depth chart to ever see the ice.
