Why Your Team Sucks: Merrimack

This is part 4 of an 11 part series(Part 1, Part 2, Part 3)

Part 4

Your team: Merrimack Warriors Hockey
Your 2015-2016 Record: 13-19-7 (5-10-7)
Your 2016-2017 outlook: They could possible be better but they will probably still sucks. Last year Merrimack got terrible goaltending throughout the year and anybody who knows the defensive style that Merrimack plays knows that they do not have the offensive firepower to overcome bad goaltending. You would think with this information Mark Dennehy and that fine Boston College degree of his would put two and two together and go get a better goalie since his returning started, Collin Delia, ranked 12th in GAA and dead last 15th in save % of qualifying goalies last year. If you thought this you would be incorrect. Dennehy and co are bringing in 6 forwards and 2 defenseman in this year's freshman class.

Live look at Merrimack's best goaltending they got all year last year

Merrimack are losing their 3rd, 4th and 5th top scorers from last year so the questions will become if the freshmen can replace that production or if Brett Seney and Hampus Gustaffson can pull a Greg Jennings and put the team on their back. It certainly will be interesting if the smallest school in Hockey East can improve at all but with others improving around them such as UConn and UVM it is tough to see them making up any ground.

Your Coach: Mark Dennehy(BC grad aka a loser)- 144-234-53. Dennehy has done a lot to put Merrimack on the map as a D-1 program so I will try not to be too mean. With that said, if anyone is going to touch Jerry York's soon to be all time loss record of 617(by the end of the year), it's Dennehy. He already has 234 losses and his job is certainly not in danger with all that he has done for the program. He could continue to lose for the next 20 years and take York's soon to be record away from him which would be a real shame but hilarious that a BC alum would take the all time loss record from another. Merrimack sucks.
