USA Hockey Announces Junior Camp Invitees

Last year's victorious USA team.

29 players have been invited to the Junior National's camp in preparation for the World Junior Classic - and 3 are from Boston University. Defenseman Adam Clendening, forward Charlie Coyle and forward Matt Nieto will all be in camp for the US once BU breaks between semesters. Other Div. 1 schools were well represented, including 4 from BC, and a couple teams with 1 or 2 (North Dakota, Minnesota-Duluth, etc). The tournament officially begins December 26, by which point Team USA will be down to 22 players. Last year, the US squad took down Canada in the finals to win the gold medal, and BU's own Dave Warsofsky was an assistant captain for that team. Team USA looks to repeat this year with another strong batch of players, not the least of whom are Coyle, Nieto and Clendening. I personally think only 2 of the 3 will make the team, probably some combination of Coyle and either Nieto or Clendening.
