Quack Quack's Money in the bank locks of the week

Rough week last week. I think it was my first o for week but hey still above .500 so ill take it. Now 22-16 overall here goes nothing.

NFL:
Seattle@Chicago(-10)
- Seattle shocked the world last week and knocked off the Super Bowl Championship winner Saints last weekend. Now everyone is expecting the Bears to just roll Seattle by double digits. I don't buy it. Seattle can run the ball as everyone who saw that Marshawn Lynch run last week where he broke like 200 tackles. I think Seattle keeps it close if it doesn't win outright. I like Seattle with the points here. Chicago just ain' t that good. You really trust Jay Cutler to go win a playoff game for you? Exactly. Get ready for some more earthquakes.

Green Bay @ Atlanta(-3)
- Green Bay is the popular pick here as many people like them to make a Superbowl run. I am one of those people. The Falcons didn't look good in that big Week 16 matchup with the Saints. I like Aaron Rodgers and the Pack here. Look for another big week for James Starks at RB for the Cheeseheads.

-Colorado Avalanche@ Minnesota Wild (-1.5)
- I love BU west(read Colorado) with a goal and a half here. Colorado is the better team and the goals just makes this pick that much easier. Yip gets his first career hat trick with 3 assists from Shatty. Winner Winner chicken dinner.

Shatty scores again

Kevin Shattenkirk scored once again for the Colorado Avalanche in a 3-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. With the loss, the team still remains tied with Vancouver for the Northwest division lead. This was Shattenkirk's third goal of the season and seventh point in 11 games since being called up. With this ,it looks like Shatty will stick with the big club along with former Terrier Brandon Yip who has 10 points in 20 games so far this season and had an assist in this one.

Shatty's goal was one which he came swooping from the left of the Edmonton goalie(Martin Gerber) and stuffed it past his pad short side. It was a critical goal in the game as the Avalanche fell behind 2-0 quickly and Shatty's goal got them back in the game before the intermission and could stolen a point for the team if it were not for a last second Taylor Hall goal.

Both Zach Cohen and Colby Cohen remain on the AHL affiliate Lake Erie Monsters putting up unimpressive numbers thus far.

Also USCHO.com has an article on what the Terriers should be thankful for this Thanksgiving along with the rest of Hockey East and some projections for this coming weekend's games.

UPDATE- Shatty was the number two star in the 11/27 7-4 win over the Minnesota Wild at the Pepsi Center in Colorado. Shatty had another goal and two assists and is quickly making a name for himself in the NHL.

Avs getting Millan in the spotlight

The Colorado Avalanche have seriously shown they know how to pick their team. With Yip having a decent season (18 games played, 5 goals and 3 assists) with them, Shatty getting his first NHL career goal last week with them, and Millan being drafted in the 5th round for them, they're gonna have a good squad in the next few years.

Now they're getting pumped to have 31 to mind the net for them. Millan's proved himself at the NCAA level, and I think it's time to show what he's got at the professional level

Quack Quack calls out Shatty...and he responds

So yesterday I posted a video of Shatty's so-called big hit in a game and down-playing it. I also called out Shatty's lack of ability to make some big hits. Well it doesn't matter if you can hit when you can snap off shots like that one. Can you say unstoppable? I know Redd10 can't(way too many repeating letters in there) but that is exactly what that shot was. Top corner...Goalie(A. Nittymaki) never had a chance. Congrats Shatty on your first career NHL goal.

Shatty's version of Gryba smash

-This was posted by Terrier Hockey Blog already but I had to put my opinion in on this. Honestly this make youtube video these days? This isn't Gryba lighting someone up or starting a fight. This is Shatty like accidentally getting in a dude's way. Yes, it would have been his biggest hit ever here but still not youtube worthy. He barely even touches the guy. He just gets their legs tangled up and they both fall. Next time put an elbow in his face so I have something better to post like this by hit by Gryba last year. This how to put someone on their back!

Wednesday Morning Odds and Ends

Former Terrier standout and current Colorado Avalanche (read: BU West) forward Brandon Yip scored a shootout goal last night to lift the Avs over the Red Wings, 5-4. The Yipper was the 6th Avs skater to come out in the shootout, and beat the Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard top shelf glove side to score the only shootout goal for either team...

Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller spoke out against head shots in the NHL, referencing injured Bruins forward Marc Savard in the process. "Savard's still not playing," Miller said. "One of the best playmakers we have in this game is still not playing because of a stupid hit". Miller's comments came after one of his teammates, Jason Pominville, was nailed from behind by Blackhawks D-Man Niklas Hjalmarsson...Savard was injured last March 7 on a blindside hit from the Penguins resident scumbag Matt Cooke...

Hockey East announced its first round of weekly award winners, and BU was represented well. Junior defenseman and assistant captain David Warsofsky won the Athletic Republic Player of the Week award, while freshman forward Sahir Gill took home the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week award. As a team, BU won the very first Hockey East team of the week award. All of this, of course, comes on the heels of last weekends title win at the Ice Breaker in St. Louis...

Sticking with BU hockey, the men host UMass-Amherst this Saturday night in their home opener, while the women host Wayne State on both Friday and Saturday night...

Recent Patriots acquisition Deion Branch practiced yesterday, wearing number 84 (his number 83 is in use by Wes Welker. After practice, Branch made it  clear that he is not here to replace Randy Moss: "Not here to replace Randy. I’m not Randy. I wasn’t Randy Moss when I was here and I’m not here to replace him"...

Rangers Ace Cliff Lee lifted Texas over Evan Longoria and the Tampa Rays last night, in Game 5 of their AL Divisional series. The Rangers now move on to face another AL East team - the Yankees - in the AL Championship series. As a Red Sox fan and avid hater of all things Yankee, I really hope Lee saves his best stuff for those Bronx Beaters...

The Miami Heat's "Big 3" should probably just start renting out spots on the Injured Reserve now. Dwayne Wade is currently attempting to heal his strained right hamstring, and last night former Cavalier and current racial ignoramus Lebron James limped off the court with leg cramps. Watch out Bosh, it's only a matter of time...

According to The Bleacher Report, Vikings quarterback and resident "sexter" Brett Favre issued a tearful apology to his team prior their Monday night defeat at the hands of his former team, the New York Jets. It has yet to be determined if Favre was crying due to embarrassment or shock over having been turned down by somebody other than his sister...
