Winner- Matt Grzelcyk- Grzelcyk had the best weekend of the season for the Terriers as he contributed a goal Friday night and produced numerous other quality chances with his superior skating ability. Grzelcyk knew when to jump into the rush and his teammates did a great job of covering his back when he did. If Grizz continues this type of play, good things are going to happen for both BU and the USA WJC team.
Joe Pereira Trophy- Given to the Terrier who, through grit, hard work, and determination helps the team to victory on and off the scoresheet. Just like Joey did. (Interview can be read here)
Winner- Matt Ronan,F- Ronan started off Friday night on defense with captain Garrett Noonan out and made a nice pinch and recorded his first point of the season on Tommy Kelley's goal in the second period. Ronan continued his hard skating game and continues to prove his versatility and value to the Terriers. The BOD(Best Offensive Defenseman) has been in the lineup as of late and skating hard every shift which lands him the Joey P this week.

Weekend Recap- Terriers lose,tie to Merrimack
It was a disappointing weekend for the BU Terriers are they only took one point from Merrimack. The Terriers failed to hold onto a 2-1 lead entering the third period Friday night at Lawler Arena before settling for a tie Saturday night back at Agganis Arena against the same Warriors. The Terriers had plenty of highs and lows throughout both nights which has been on par with how the season has gone thus far.
Friday night started off bad from the very beginning as Merrimack scored a goal less than four minutes into the game off a deflection off of freshman dman Dalton MacAfee's stick. Certainly not a play that you can fault him for as he was trying to block a shot from the point and he just got a bad bounce. He came back well from it as senior Pat MacGregor pointed out in his post game press conference. MacAfee, in general, has made huge strides since arriving on campus and I think he will only play better as he gets more comfortable.
BU got back in the game late in the first on a great rush from Matt Grzelcyk(get used to reading that ) to tie the game up on a pass from freshman Nick Roberto. The Terriers would take the lead in the second on freshman Tommy Kelley's second goal of the year off a great look from classmate Robbie Baillargeon. The Terriers would then to play one of their worst periods of the season in the third as gave up quality chances to Merrimack and allowed them to escape with a 3-2 win. People will point to the 13-3 shot total but it was the quality of shots that was the problem not the quantity. If you want to shoot from the blue line all day at O'Connor or Maguire, I'll take my chances(see Saturday night). They simply couldn't maintain possession in the third period and generate any quality offensive chances for themselves. BU still almost tied the game with less than 10 second left after a shaky save from Merrimack goalie Rasmus Tirronen. That is the thing that "writers" and fans are overlooking with this team. They may be young and have their struggles but they aren't going to give up. They are going to do whatever they can to find a way to win games.

QQ- BU 4-2- I have said it plenty already. I'm not picking Merrimack until they beat someone in conference. They haven't yet. More importantly, I think shots will be 31-25 BU so the victory will count(in certain college hockey writers' eyes). All can rest easy tonight knowing BU won the shot battle.
MWW- BU 5-4- Catholic guilt and Jesus was a jew
UMass @ Notre Dame
QQ- Notre Dame 3-1- UMass is just not very good this year(and every other year) but especially on the road.

BSRS Weekly Awards 12/3

Winner- Matt O'Connor- OC has been hot lately and Coach Quinn has rewarded him with 4 straight starts where he has given up 7 goals total in this span. He made 37 saves on 39 shots this weekend vs Cornell and was visibly pumped when BU held on for the victory. OC wins his second straight GJ

Winner- Mike Moran,F- Moran was flying all over the ice once again Saturday night for the Terriers. He not only tallied the first goal on a sweet pass from Danny O'Regan. His line continued to play well while also staying out of the box. It is no coincidence that the team has gone on a 4 game unbeaten streak with his line intact.

Weekend Recap: Terriers take home piece of hardware with RHH win over Cornell
The BU Terriers fought through adversity and found a way to remain undefeated at the biannual Red Hot Hockey event at Madison Square Garden vs the Cornell Big Red with a 3-2 victory Saturday night. Despite being outshot 39-11 and being on the wrong end of some bad officiating, the Terriers gutted out the victory behind goals from Mike Moran, Robbie Baillargeon and Nick Roberto. Matt O'Connor stopped 35 of 37 shots he faced.
Despite the shot totals, I thought the Terriers played well defensively and were great on the penalty kill as Cornell was 0 for 7 while BU was 1 for 2. You would like to seem more sustained zone time offensively and obviously more shots on net but they made the most of their opportunities. Danny O'Regan made a sweet pass for Mike Moran's tap in goal with 2:10 left in the first. The Terriers would extend that lead with goals from Robbie Baillargeon off a great centering pass from Evan Rodrigues and a Nick Roberto powerplay goal off a nice pass from Kevin Duane. The freshmen are starting to score regularly and produce which is no coincidence as BU is now 3-0-1 in their last 4 and 7-6-1 overall.
